New Fronteras reúne una nueva serie de pinturas desarrolladas por Esteban Atari durante su residencia en KOIK Contemporary. Partiendo de caminatas por distintos parques de la Ciudad de México, el artista desarrolla una serie de pinturas que surgen de la exploración del paisaje cotidiano y de la posibilidad de descubrir algo nuevo en aquello que creemos conocer.
El título combina el inglés y el español para aludir tanto a la idea de explorar nuevos territorios como a las fronteras que delimitan el espacio. Entre recorridos, fotografías y procesos de pintura sobre un lienzo de más de veinte metros de longitud, New Fronteras propone una reflexión sobre la forma en que el contexto transforma nuestra lectura de un lugar y cómo una experiencia cotidiana puede adquirir nuevos significados cuando se observa desde otra perspectiva.

New Fronteras brings together a new body of paintings created by Esteban Atari during his residency at KOIK Contemporary. Beginning with walks through parks across Mexico City, the artist developed a series of paintings that emerged from exploring the everyday landscape and from the possibility of discovering something new within places we think we already know.
Blending English and Spanish, the title evokes both the idea of exploring new frontiers and the borders that shape our surroundings. Through walks, photographs, and paintings developed on a canvas over twenty meters long, New Fronteras reflects on how context can transform the way we read a place and how familiar experiences can take on new meanings when viewed from a different perspective.
